Re: MLPPP & Dynamic IP There is a few ways to use MLPPP:
1. A tomato compatible router (»en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Tomato_(fi···evisions ) flashed with firmware from fixppp.org
This will automatically ensure that MLPPP is up and running for everything that connects to your router
2. You can do MLPPP with XP/Vista: »Re: Any ideas how to Do MLPP ? with xp?
This soluton however is ideal for situations where there is one PC connecting to the modem...or if you have something like the ST546 where you can connect both a regular router and PC simultaneously each establishing a session ...
3. Combine MLPPP with XP/Vista + Router Loopback (if the router you have is not Tomato compatible) »Re: Any ideas how to Do MLPP ? with xp?
This will also enable MLPPP throughout your network...
4. Do MLPPP on a single computer with VirtualBox + Zeroshell/MLPPP »Single-link MLPPP on Windows with Virtualbox (instructions)
For a single computer this is no different than doing it with XP or Vista... However if you were to have an old computer laying around you could set it up with this and use it as the router to establish MLPPP (instead of purchasing WRT54GL etc.) while using your current DLink as an extension to this...
5. I also remember reading this last year ...but cannot find the post..
There was a user who: -Had computer connected to non-compatible router establishing internet -Setup a PPPOE connection in windows with MLPPP enabled -Run it once and closed it -At that point MLPPP was enabled for that computer
Can't guarantee this is 100%... if anyone remembers what I am talking about feel free to add to this last part... |
