Re: Print Server using 2700HG-E2 The 2wire gateway is not designed to operate as a print server. It simply does not have the software to do this. (EDIT: That is, to my knowledge no 2wire firmware implements features such as this, but I am not an insider.)
A "print server" is a device that has a minimal operating system designed to share a connected printer, queue the print jobs, etc, etc. Sometimes this software is embedded into the printer itself, sometimes it is implemented as a separate piece of equipment. Your 2700 is designed to provide "networking" services. Although printing can be a "networked" service, it is not a "network" service. Maybe sounds like splitting hairs, but there is a distinction.
If your printer is designed to be a network printer then it has it's own built in print server software that can be networked through the 2700. If the printer was not designed to be a network printer then you will either need to purchase a print server or hook it to an "always on" computer and enable print sharing on that computer.
