Intermittant Outages in Naperville

Possibly Columbus as well.

They tell me it's a transformer of some type. They are hoping that repairs are finished sometime this evening.

All I know is that it's annoying. My routers are going bananas.

Is this a recent issue?

I've been getting really slow speeds the last 2 days but when I called last night they said they weren't having any issues on their end.

I'm about to go out and buy a new cable modem because I thought that was the issue, but if it turns out to be on their end, I'd rather not spend the money needlessly.

Yeah, it's recent. I believe it was only that late afternoon to the evening. After about 11:00 or so, I didn't notice any more issues.

I was seeing it in the form of cable TV blackouts initially. Of course, then I checked the phone and internet connections and saw that my service was very intermittent. But, I didn't notice the problem as degraded. It was either on or off.

The CSR mentioned only Illinois and Columbus as problem spots during my conversation with him. But, I suppose that doesn't mean other places weren't affected.

Mine was working fine yesterday evening, no disconnects, but very very slow...

Speedtest to Chicago showed 4-5MBit speed, speedtesting to either coast showed less than 1MBit.

Crappy, considering it's 15MBit connection. Hope they fix it soon.

Weird. My speed tests were fine, but I was getting occasional disconnects.

It's wasn't and isn't a total outage. It's intermittent.

I can't tell if the problem is solved or not--no one is home to tell me. Regardless, the problem will be solved for me in about 6 days (with Comcast).
