Re: [NBA] SHAQ to the CAVS! He has one year to make it happen. Both Lebron and Shaq are FA after the season. You know the Cavs are only going to "try" to bring back Lebron.

Why wouldn't they go after him with everything they got? This isnt Major League Baseball, where you can be priced out of the market, especially when you have no other max contracts on your payroll.
If Yao Ming can be an international superstar from frickin Houston, and Tiger Woods can make $1 billion without any identifiable home area, there's no reason LeBron cant kick ass in Cleveland. With the global and mobile market the way it is, being in New York is a lot less important for an athlete's endorsements than it was 20 years ago. -- You're so vain... I bet you think this post is about you. |

Back in the day a guy like Joe Willie Namath and New York was a GO from the get-go. But it wouldn't be like that today for the reasons you gave. |

The Dv8orJust call me Dong Suck Oh, M.D.Premium join:2001-08-09 Denver, CO | I think it's actually a tremendous benefit for LeBron to stay away from New York. First of all, that franchise is still a shambles. Second, he wouldn't have to deal with the crush of the New York media, which can ruin a guy pretty quickly *cough*A-Rod*cough*. Third, Cleveland really doesn't have anything going for it, and he can rule that city for the rest of his life, especially if he pulls down a ring or two. -- You're so vain... 1 edit | reply to The Dv8or Lebron likes NYC. That is why I think he is going to jump ship. Even though he gets a lot of endorsements I think being in NYC will help him achieve even more money in that market. Hell he plays great in MSG so why not play great 41 times a year there
edit : Also when the Cavs drafted Lebron their team was as bad as the Knicks are now. -- Mets, Cowboys, Devils |
