I'm chatting with a embarq rep online, and he's trying to tell me this problem just happend today no other issues have been reported.

I know its been going on since May.I normally dont give a rats ass about credit, but to have someone tell me its only been going on today pisses me off to no extent.Embarq needs more employees like Joey he does a excellent job.

Got this today from Embarq in response to an email inquiry:

Thank you for contacting the High-Speed Internet Support department at EMBARQ, your Home Communications company.
I am sorry for the issue you are experiencing.
There is a issue that should be resolved on the 7th.
I would reset my modem late in the afternoon.
If you need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Thank you for choosing EMBARQ,
Rob G.

Let's hope this pans out to solve our ongoing speed issues.

@embarqhsd.net

Have been lagging now for three days, just found all of this info tonight and am glad I did.

Just upgraded to the 10 meg package and thought they messed something up, apparently not besides the inability to manage the resources.

I live in Palestine myself, service is still slow as usual for a 5meg connection.

This doesn't have to do with capacity from what I have seen. Engineers have narrowed it down to an OC-48 taking massive errors and have taken multiple steps to correct this without any luck.

I'm in the Brownsboro area and around 6pm local time my DSL basically "stopped." Any idea when Embarq might fix this? In the past calling was kind of useless because even the local OSP technician wasn't aware of the outage because Embarq never let him know.

Thanks

Near Houston and we also completely died around 6. The tech support line says the same thing it usually does. "...should be resolved in 24 hours.". 24 hours from when? Who knows.

Yep, mine has stopped as well. My wife has been home all day & basically gave up on the internet. I got home @ 1800 and no connection. Resetting the modem results in 3 lights now. I'm in Athens, TX area.

Mine just came back in Brownsboro at 6:35 and it seems pretty fast. Hopefully it will stay up this time.

Engineers are working on it as we speak.

Have you heard, when it rains it pours. There are multiple issues going on. Cards are being replaced in data pops and fiber is being cleaned. There is also a signaling issue with some vendor equipment that needs to be upgraded. They are not just sitting back, rather working on this around the clock. The engineer working on it yesterday (and today now) was up for 20 hours trying to figure this out...

I agree completely. I think service will be restored in a day or two with some slow downs during peak hours. This is where the 3rd OC12 kicks in which is still being installed by the contractor.
