I'm currious. Would there be a way to cancel my voip service and switch to google? I guess I'm asking, would google offer a device that I could plug my phone and internet into to make calls like a traditional voip provider? I don't know how much longer my voip is going to be around and it would be nice to have a provider that is strong enough to take on all of the challenges out there. I don't want a bundled phone service. -- Vonage user since Mar 2004.

Do you use Gizmo5? You can set up GV to forward to G5 via sip. You make outgoing calls by logging into GV and using the call button. G5 is free for sip to sip which is what GV to G5 would be, and GV is currently free. It's a minor inconvenience for outbound calls but hey its free.

Too bad. I would like to still be able to use my traditional phones. -- Vonage user since Mar 2004.

reply to watice Well, not yet... never say never, though. Maybe Google will eventually offer some type of SIP-based VoIP service of their own in the not too distant future. Who's ripe for being purchased?
