cmullen8Ultraman join:2004-06-10 Silver Spring, MD | BYOD SR ac-211-sr; close but need a little help Hi all. After a couple of years with Packet8 I have switched to ViaTalk. Trying to get my old Sunrocket ATA dialed in as a BYOD. I followed these instructions »tonycode.com/wiki/index.php?titl···_ViaTalk and had a dial tone as well as the Voice light on solid green, but when I dial, I get dead air. I then tried the dial plan described at »support.viatalk.com/index.php?_a···s&_i=124 (the second one which is specific to the ac-211-sr) and it made no difference.
Can anyone using this device successfully on VT check those settings and note any differences? Thanks.
It may be worth noting the ATA must sit behind the router in my configuration because my IP is VZ Fios and the connection to the router is Coax not ethernet. |

1 edit | Can you place the ac-211 in the DMZ of router. This will help narrow down the problem. If it works we can try port forwarding.
Also try the hightower.vtnoc.net. server. It works a little differently than the others. |

Neither worked by itself.
Edit-I have now taken the ac-211 out of the DMZ and forwarded UDP 5060-5061 and UDP 20000-30000 and seem to be doing fine. (Found this setup via google search.) Any thoughts on this approach one way or the other? |

1 edit | reply to cmullen8 If it works then you should be fine. My ac-211 is packed away so I don't know the default port ranges it uses.
Other things that may help is set the stun server. stun.vtnoc.net port 3478. One other odd ball setting with registration that I can't remember also helps. Hopefully someone here remembers it. |

 | reply to cmullen8 I had the same problem a few months back and called VT Customer support. I was on the phone with him for about 15 minutes and my 211 has been performing like a charm since. He had me look at and changed specific areas of the 211 settings so they obviously have a good knowlege base for the gizmo. |
