[Speed Problem] Not getting the speed that I paid for

Its been about 7 years since I've had SBC DSL service and it had never occurred to me perform a speed test before. Back then I only had a desktop connected to the modem, so the speed seemed okay to me. Until 2 years ago, when I started to have a laptop connect via wi-fi. My speed was rather poor when both computers were on the internet. Which made me decide to performed a speed test, and the results showed that I was getting I was getting about half of the speed of what I was paying for.

I contacted the tech support to inquired about the speed, but was given the run around. They made me perform several tests and etc. In the end, I gave up speaking to the tech and just settled with the speed. However, I now have a ps3, laptop, and a desktop using this same speed. So I would like to find someway to get my speed up to what I am paying for. Hopefully, you guys can help me out on what I should do or provide me with some information.

Thanks in advance.
