1 edit | Acronis TI Build 9796 Released 6-24
Fixed issues Fixed resetting of password and encryption options when editing a task prior to its first run Fixed the issue of incorrect log entry when scheduled task for incremental backup to USB HDD (which is recognized as non-removable) fails when this HDD is not present, but the log says "Operation has succeeded." Fixed loss of some default "File level security options" during My Data task creation Known issues and limitations of the version: Acronis True Image Home is unable to search: o Archives in ZIP and TIB format on removable media o Archives in ZIP format using GDS and WDS Archive to various places (AVP) does not work with FTP Server and the Acronis Secure Zone. Acronis True Image Home doesn't support backing up in compressed zip format to CD/DVD. The progress bar hangs when writing backups to CD\DVD. Please note that this does not prevent successful completion of the backup. Acronis True Image Home does not support GUID Partition Table (GPT) and dynamic disks. Dynamic disks are a type of RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) storage supported by the Microsoft Windows operating system. Hardware-based RAID sets are supported by the software. When upgrading from Acronis True Image 11 Home, tasks are not ported to Acronis True Image Home 2009. Also, it will not be possible to edit tasks created with Acronis True Image 11 home, and previously created scheduled tasks must be recreated following the upgrade. When updating from ATIH 11 with activated Acronis True Image Startup Recovery Manager (ASRM) to Acronis True Image Home 2009, the ASRM operates in trial mode by default. The user will not be able to create backups, only restore backups. In order to create backups from the ASRM, first deactivate the ASRM by going to Tools->Activate Startup Recovery Manager->Deactivate and then re-activate the ASRM by going to Tools->Activate Startup Recovery Manager->Activate
Log in to your account to collect the update.

| Thanks! I was still running 9788. I use ShadowProtect and TI 2009 now (redundancy is good). |

4 edits | So is 9796 a NEW build? Or is 9791 the new build? I'm just wondering if they have failed to update the links to 9796 as it's misslabeled. I have been live chatting with a REP at ATI and he needs more info on my end as he tried sending me 9796 but it was 9791 again. EDIT: Found out it's a GUI issue. It's build #9791. It is either a GUI mistake or a mislabeled version number. Either way there is NO build #9796.

1 edit | reply to WFO 9796 is up but it fails (crashes) as soon as you run setup... I see it's a known issue... I hope they fix it ASAP.

| reply to WFO It's almost impossible to trust this company these days - I'm sticking with my current TI 2009 build, it works on my machines.
Fills you with ZERO confidence that in the past few weeks all I've seen is different build numbers appear/disappear and then mismatches of versions etc..... |

| reply to gate1975mlm I have jumped the fence and gone with ShadowProtect.
Seems that I couldn't mount any of my backups with TI version 11. Even going back to version 9 b2337. Contacted support. They tried but after it was escalated to Tier 2, I haven't heard from them. (Perhaps that should have been Tear 2. lol)

One can never have too many backups! |

| reply to WFO The last time I tried to update TI 2009 it told me my SN was invalid and gave me a URL to check it and if necessary get a replacement. The check program indicated I had a valid SN (which I paid for and is registered with them) and asked me to email the Acronis registry entries and msinfo which I did. I also restored the PC from a backup using TI2009 under Bartpe and reinstalled the prior version that accepted my paid for SN. After two days without a reply to my email I checked the Acronis site and they had removed the update and replaced it with the older version that still works for me.
My educated guess is that they added a check for some pirated SNs and the check isnt very accurate.
I am going to wait awhile for the dust to settle before I try this upgrade and I will have a current backup before I try it. -- Jim Anderson |
