It's so much that I was just pricing the Optimum Boost speeds but it looks like that's affected too so forget that.

They need to upgrade the equipment in our area, it's really bad. The upstream modulation also changed and likely needs to be better than -52 instead of -56 but I am not positive what the exact upstream spec is now.

I hope that was all that was needed. also, he noted that the acceptable signal level is between -10 and +10 not 15 like everyone else says. This is Cablevision's standard while 15 is everyone else he says.

edit: i also forgot to mention that the connectors he used have rubber isolation in them to prevent water leaking in. It kinda loooks like this:

It wouldn't happen because of the change, though it may have started since that time.

Do you have Optimum Voice phones? If so, do they connect too? Have you noticed if the modem lights change when the service drops? If not, do you have multiple PCs? Do they all disconnect at the same time?

Disconnects are not normal, and shouldn't happen.
