This is a bit OT

We have talked in this forum about all kinds of WISP products, business ideas, strategies, and what not's so I hope this isn't appropriate. In that it may help someone in the community like I hope it will me.

I found this

And purchased one the other day. I have a HELL of a time keeping track of my receipts and such. This little guy is just fantastic. I can record all of my receipts (prob. right in the van after a while) And not have to worry about all the little pieces of paper floating around after a job. Not to mention in my set-up, I can forward the images or have them backed up to our server, for the office person of the month to enter it in I run pretty well solo, so things get a bit crazy and hectic A LOT.

Just a Neat (pardon the pun) product, idea, and time saver for me. And it's small enough to have in my laptop bag. Scan my paper work even once the job is done and signed for on the spot. Just all kinds of ways I can use this thing.

Yeah we scan everything as well, but we use the typical bulky "office scanner". The nice thing about this is that it looks like you could easily fit it in a truck. Could work out really good for work orders etc.

Funny! We must some how be linked mentally. We just started doing this.

Actually, I have an older version of the software that was free, but I don't have the scanner. I can see this being alot nicer if I had the scanner that it works with.

Ultimately though, I think I am just going to start using file folders and a cabinet as this seems to simply add more steps to organize.

So far the software does what it advertises. It reads, the scanned information, and places it all in a database (Proprietary). Pretty slick, as I can scan those junk laser reciepts and the software picks out the name, date, total, tax, and card number and lays it all out for me to either keep in their program, or export to whatever via CSV, and other formats.

I'm just tickled that I can scan those reciepts anyway. I can hardley read most of them anyhow. The scanner takes a good copy, and does it's thing with the software. HANDY. is all I can say. And it's quick and painless for the most part.

I really like not having to keep all these little gas reciepts and such. Or making copies so they last. Just scan, and back it up every now and then.
