| That does look like a really good deal!
The K2000 isn't quite as full-featured as the K10D, but it has just about the same sensor.
Amusing note: When I click on that costco link, I am taken to a page about enabling cookies. The title of the page has an amusing typo: "Costco Cookie Requirenents" -- for all your Linux questions |

Oh, the cookie page has a link that says something about "Click here to continue", so I was able to reach the advertisement just fine. I just thought the typo in the title bar was amusing. -- for all your Linux questions |

No it doesn't it is the olld CCD 10mp sensore from the 10D.... Only the 20D is CMOS. (And why Canon tribe has now lost their big arument/talking point) Definately an improvement from the 100D (6MP?) but still CCD.
Not that CCD is HORRID, but unarguably CMOS is better in many more extreme situation, glad Pentax finally went there with the 20D.. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

I was saying that the K2000 has pretty much the same sensor as the K10D. -- for all your Linux questions |

2 edits | OOPS soory just saw the last post quoted not the one before .... indeed you did.
And by the way having had other CCD cameras before and the 10D, the damn finest performance CCD I ever experienced.
But IF one can manage the price difference between the 200D and the 20D (even putting off lenses purchase for a while) I would definately go for the 20D. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

What's mostly better with CMOS is price, overall camera complexity, and readout speed (without which we would not have video in dSLRs or high framerate @ 12+MP, I think). -- My Site |

What are the extreme situations you refer to? Dynamic range of CMOS tends to be better, more resistant to streaking/blloming (klike shooting a sun still present sunset), and such distortions, also generally much less noise in low light/high ISO and time exposure situation.
Again the more extreme situations.
And also as I said before the 10D CCD is one of the best I have experienced, but I can see a decided difference, especially in the extreme situations with the 20D CMOS.beyond just res dif..
And I will admit to th Canon community even my 1st Gen Rebel and only 6mp but CMOS did do better than my P 10D sometimes, but couldn't (even the 10 hacked firmware) beging to come close to its feature set for not much more cost which more than made up....and what swung it even though a CCD (and for thier limitation a very good one) sensor.
But with the 20D no CMOS envy anymore.
Also glad had the 10D because at its introduction you could still find bargain used Pentax lenses then, but no more really, any still out there much nearer current equiv retail.. (and still do have 10D as second or backup body) -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)
