Baltimore and Portland are the two areas Clearwire have rolled out their new service. Sounds like Millenicom is in bed with them.
Keep in mind when you are using the live chat you are not talking to a Millenicom rep - you are talking to an outsourced peon down in Georgia. |

@myvzw.com | reply to david_h15 I called about the unlimited service that they are working on and i cant get it of course im out in the boonies. You just have to give them your address and call customer service and talk to Dennis the techs are useless. |

@myvzw.com | reply to david_h15 Why do people keep bringing up Clearwire? This has been available from Millenicom for a long time. It is nothing new and has nothing to do with any supposed unlimited EVDO package. |

| reply to david_h15 I too just got told I am outside the footprint for this new service . Said they are rolling it out within the next week or two, can't wait to see what this service is and if it's close enough that an antenna would pull it in or not. -- Mobile Broadband EVDO Rev. @myvzw.com
| I am pretty sure it is just a Millenicom broadband account with unlimited data for extra $ per month.
I was told it was not available in my area by "Dennis" though, who claims it is being added in about 10 cities a quarter.
So it may be a new infrastructure, or it may be towers in certain areas are getting upgrades. |

| reply to david_h15 There's no such thing as unlimited bandwidth. This is just more Millenicom BS. If Millenicom promises unlimited bandwidth (technically "unmetered"), all they are going to do is take your $70/mo and then 6 months from now start sending out the over-limit emails once their provider gets fed up. Then they will come out and say for $80/mo they can give you unlimited bandwidth...

They understand fully the wrath that the upstream bandwidth providers heaped on them for allowing the "Heroic" users to do their thing. Apparently Millenicom was told control it or we will. Thus the 0.20 Mbs throttle by Verizon who is really in control of their network. Don't blame Millenicom. Verizon can and apparently is willing to control it one way or another. |

| reply to david_h15 I called Millenicom the other day with the intention of asking about the possibility of a truely unlimited package. I said I understand that Millenicom is enforcing a 5gb a month limit now and the guy on the other end insisted that isn't true, they'd only shut off a dozen or so clients who were downloading like 10gb a day. I told him that my son and I want to play some WOW and my son likes to watch Youtube videos. He told me that's fine, that he uses the same package and he plays COD4 and watches an occasional movie, and not to worry. Is this a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing? |
