| reply to david_h15 Ten cities per quarter...sounds a lot like Clear WiMAX.
My suggestion: someone call 'em with a Portland address. If it works, then we've figured out what the service is. For now Clear WiMAX is unlimited for home usage and, on the $50 plan, mobile usage. |

| said by iansltx :Ten cities per quarter...sounds a lot like Clear WiMAX. My thought also. The only thing that doesn't fit is the price. Maybe it's a dual offering: WiMax with EVDo as a backup when traveling in areas where WiMax is not available. |

| reply to david_h15 I had asked them about two weeks ago if they offered unlimited in my area and they said no.
Now they asked me if I'd like it for $10 more per month when I signed up. They now have it in my area which is a fairly small town, so that seems to rule out this only being wimax.
possibly they just struck a deal with sprint/verizon and they're rolling it out where there aren't many sprint/verizon users clogging up the network? |

| reply to david_h15 After ordering I requested that they put me on sprint, not verizon. I guess they knew I was trying to be as much uncapped as possible, so thats when they asked if I wanted the unlimited service.
I'm not sure weather it will be sprint or verizon. After asking for sprint they just said "do you want unlimited." |

| reply to david_h15 I e-mailed Mcom support about this $70/month banter. This was the response I received.
"We are still working on this program and will be sending out an email shortly describing our 5G limits and new service options. It may be possible to modify your account to the unlimited $69.99 service if you are interested." |

@vermontel.net | reply to david_h15 I asked them if my unlimited would be on verizon or sprint and they said it would be a "seperate footprint that includes your location."
good to hear they'll be releasing some imformation on the 5g cap though |

| I emailed them last night to see if they would let me know the carrier so I could at least check coverage maps to see if I'm on a fringe area or not so that I'd know if using an antenna was an option, no response yet. -- Mobile Broadband EVDO Rev. A via Pantech UM175 (Millenicom) |

| reply to david_h15 I emailed them last night and received this reply today. I have questions though and a phone call to cs seems to have caught them off guard as they didn't know anything.
We can certainly move forward with this request. Please note we will need to ship you a different device in order to enable this upgrade ($15 shipping fee). You will need to mail the current device (including the case and contents) back to us once you receive the new device.
Please respond with your approval. |

| reply to david_h15 I have the UM175. Just got a confirmation email from Millenicom stating they were sending the new device. They said the signal may be "a bit" weaker than the one I now have so I'm guessing it's not off the Verizon tower. I don't mind a slight decrease in speed for unlimited but I'll try the new one before I return the UM175. We shall see. |

| Jane8851 if you login to the members section of Millenicom and look under packages it should list what devices you have and will be getting. Might be able to let us know the device or who it's with -- Mobile Broadband EVDO Rev. A via Pantech UM175 (Millenicom) |

| reply to david_h15 Yes, coverage not as good here for Sprint, Verizon tower is only 1 mile away, but I'm hoping it will be OK. Rather have unlimited even if I lose a little speed. I'm guessing that's how it works? The Sprint coverage map says "good" rather than "best". |

seems like more of a money grab on millenicom's part |
