Satellite Internet in Afghanistan

Hi All
I got a friend who's heading to Afghanistan and I'm starting to look around for a satellite isp that he'll be able to use to get on-line. Anyone been down this road yet? Recommendations or isp's to avoid?

Ask your question on this forum:

There are several service providers that provide service to that area.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I'm not sure about is that what you heard isn't exactly what I meant.

WAFA and Bentlely Walker both offer free hardware to US Forces - assuming a service commitment through the end of deployment. Enhancements are made to the system to enable the customer to install and commission the system him/herself. Contact info for both providers can be found on the SatSig site on this page: »www.satsig.net/ivsat2.htm
