said by rik : Yup, It's ok for Bell/Rogers to open up "cheap" sweat shops abroad (for illegal profiteering), but if you or me work abroad our Cdn. government punishes us with even more Taxes. -ya, and most of you know exactly what I mean. loverly eh ?, here's to our Canadian Lemmings -errr I meant Beavers'. ? Rick. Hey Rick all these call center are Air conditioned and not run from Boiler room. So they are not cheap sweat shops. And you have problem with our Government take it up to them.
The problem is Bell has huge issues in lots departments. But all these problems existed before jobs migrated offshore. So I don't see the India call center as problems but effects of bad policies by Bell. This issue is not only with Bell but all other Canadian companies. With Bell its unbelievable. |

Holy @#$%^ You make believe that the above image is any different than the way Bell treats its very own customers.
We may not have that type of ugliness, but we sure as hell have the associated problems of that picture.
Years of posts on this forum, and Bell's own forum proves this.
The quality of procured services in no different than the quality of Bell's customer support for the procured services (that the customer pays for).
The above picture is very representative of Bell itself and its' low quality services and support venues. |

Holy @#$%^ So this is what the CSRs are looking at out the window when they are talking to Bell victims. No wonder their support is so screwed up. BTW can anyone see terminal in there or do they just splice into any pair with dial-tone? On the plus side, you have to give credit to the guy who does climb the pole to hook up a new connection ... cross-talk or not. |

| reply to Bell India I never trust whatever Bell claims anymore even if it's the truth. They lost my trust with them. When I asked them to resolve a bill they screwed up they claimed they fixed it yet it showed up again in next statement. I called 4 times and was told it was corrected. Then I left Bell and they added another month's charge when I already gave them notice. They claim they would send a package kit so I can send back their modem, they never did. You would have to be a total idiot to trust whatever Bell is saying, because more than half the time it isn't true in the first place. |

| reply to Bell India I get different idiots from different India numbers calling me each month asking if I want 7mb internet. Whats worse is they argue with me on the fact that bell does not have 7mb in my area. When the best bell can do is 1mb.
They sure do like to lie constantly. I wonder how many unsuspecting customers they get with it. |

| reply to Bell India Some words of wisdom for the cabal of geniuses at the helm of Bell from the CEO of the largest company in the US.
".... like many U.S. companies GE has turned too many core technological procedures over to outside contractors and foreign operations."
"In some areas, we have outsourced too much," Immelt said, according to a copy of his prepared remarks. "We plan to 'insource' capabilities like aviation component manufacturing and software development."

| reply to Buque Fel said by Buque Fel :I wonder when Bell will get wise outsource their Senior Management to India. I'm sure that even India must have some arrogant dumb arses. And I'm sure they'll work for less than Canadian-based arrogant dumb arses. I am sure that day is not too far away. There are company's which take on outsourced CIO or CFO work, so outsourced dumb-ass management type should not be too difficult. |

Yeah they have learned that if support is in India there are more "accidental contract extensions" and gross misinformation ( I was told by India that I would have DSL access in 6 months almost a year ago, still on dial-up) seems like a smart business move to me. Not to be to rude. but how in the fuck is anyone in india going to know about a customers DSL problems i mean they are half way around the world!. If you want to get rid of a union fire all union employee's hire them back non-unionized. i'm assuming its not that simple, probably isnt. but still back to my main issue. why cant bell hire CANADIANS? |

| reply to dissapbell Yes it is.
See why India turned around and said, if you remove these jobs we will outfit our military from China and Russia... It would ruin their economy and thrust thousands upon thousands into the streets.
Wish I could find this gem... It was in the mainstream news about a month ago.
Everything is so delicately intertwined ay. From the Indian Bell rep calling himself mik jagger to the missiles India buys... |

| reply to Bell India What I see from Google Search each Indian IT company recruits about 15000 to 25000. About 20000 jobs are offered for Freshman at Campus around India and some UK/USA universities. 75% offers are accepted. That's huge job recruitment even in Year 2009 wit 8% pay raise. Its like two jobs every hour year around. Reducing by high turn outs the recruitment is about 18,000 per year. Yes for one company. All I can say if Holy crap. |

Keep in mind India is a cheap source of computer engineers and software writers among other things (not just call centers). said by R3wsta_xBell :
They're looking to engage an offshore IT company to usher in the new technology at a significantly reduced cost of delivery. Yup.
It's not just call centers like most people think.
Developers, writers, engineers on and on.
Huge source of "qualified", educated and low cost labor.
Need software-hardware developed, send it to India. Slap a Bell or Telus name on it and it's Canadian! |

But it's outdated.
Feb 2009 results: BellCanada - Jan. 2009 - 4,000 jobs gone.
There has been announced and unannounced layoff's since, and minor hiring in Ottawa apparently. Along the lines of fired 4000 union workers, hire 100 non-union workers.
heh
So when an employee comes in and starts mouthing that they are hiring and bringing jobs back, look at the bigger picture |
