EarthSignal, nice of you to check it out and post the WB forum thread here, but this thread is mine, actually. I just posted an update to this mystery, which at least provides some entertainment for those who wish a preeminent tech conundrum.

Spice300, I'm using Firefox 3, found the advanced settings for network in preferences, where I had the "No proxy" option checked; switched to the "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network," with no change.

We are using a proxy like otunnel in the meantime, but it's a poor stopgap, slow loading, spotty javascript, etc.
