I just used that last month to get a new license. It took about two weeks to arrive in the mail and was relatively painless.

The only frustrating part was, my dog is neutered but since I couldn't find my old file in the system I had to pay the un-neutered rate, which is $3 more. I could submit a notarized affidavit but the notary would charge as much as the un-neutered surcharge.

Or you could go to your local bank and have them notarize it for free.

Or if you are in NYC you can go to your county clerk office and get it notorized for free.

True but then it's not an online transaction. I think you can also get a note from the vet but that has to be sent snail mail too. Once the neutered status is put into the system it should be possible to renew at the lower rate.

Yea it's been up for a few months now, I renewed around April/May. It can be pretty slow sometimes though!

Really wouldn't be worth saving $3 then, would it.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
