most VPN clients are highly sensitive to latency and jitter. Usually this is caused by noise on the plant, most often within the customer premise

Unless you are a business services customer, the tech isn't going to be able to do much to troubleshoot the VPN and a residential tech is also not likely going to know what issues can cause VPN probs so they might not even look in the right places.

if you want to go ahead and register and send me the MAC address of your modem via private message, I can take a look at it to see if I can find anything and then let you know what specifically to ask the tech when they come out.

Even if the tech knows nothing about VPN, he/she should be able to solve the noise problem (or whatever the issue is) which is causing all of the T3 and T4 errors.
