Re: [HN7000S] Online Backup - Carbonite

The biggest load is the initial transfer. The question is whether you plan to back up the entire drive(s) or just crucial, irreplaceable folders. You can select what you want to save, so that it minimizes that startup blast.

Although the Hughes FAP page does not mention uploads at all, they ARE included on the usage page and no doubt count in the FAP total. And as papa01 pointed out, restoration of all that data is a guaranteed FAP.

Carbonite and other online backups are not the answer with HughesNet. And given the low price of external hard drives, why bother? Get two of them. The odds of your main drive and both backups simultaneously crapping out are essentially zero (unless your house burns down). And they're a helluva lot faster.
