1 edit | [ Express] Can this explain my problem [PIC]
 Source of problem? |
I've been experiencing a very annoying lag problem in online gaming lately. There's this brown pole outside my yard which seems to be damaged and I know it wasn't like that before. I am not sure if this is what's causing my problem but this happened before and when the pole was fixed, the lag problems went away. Now they've come back and surprise surprise, this thing is damaged again.
I am using Rogers Express with no noticeable problems in download/upload only that I get continuous lag spikes and poor connections on Xbox Live. I am not downloading anything and have the Xbox connected via ethernet.
Also I have called Rogers several times already and they've told me that their techs found no problems. I don't know if the tech just looked at my connection or actually visited my home (they didn't knock or anything).
1) What is this thing called and is it what's causing my problems?
2) Will Rogers fix this if I call them?
3) If the brown thing isn't the problem, what else can explain this?
Thanks for your time. |

@rogers.com | It has nothing to do with it. Do a traceroute to your gaming site and post it here. That should show you if there is any slow down on the route to the server you are using. |

| reply to supermoo Thanks for the help everyone. I guess it was just a coincidence then. I still can't figure out for the life of me what is causing all this lag. It renders every game unplayable due to the sheer annoyance factor of games stopping every few seconds. Speed tests done at www.speedtest.net and www.rogers.com/speedcheck both indicate I'm getting a full 10mbps/512kbps connection. |
