Philly is a hodgepodge of older General Instrument (now Motorola) and Antec 750 MHz gear. There are some 860 actives out there, but since the system is patchwork (heck even some MDU's have old GI 550 MHz junk), it's a nightmare.
Comcast is seeding the region with DTA's. After a few months of this, some analog channels will be eliminated and you'll see the HD explosion. |

Re: Philly? the eventual future is one where the only analog on cable will be the broadcast networks. and even those there is no requirement for them to keep those in analog considering all their competition including the rabbit ears needs a digital tuner of some form now.

Philadelphia, PA | Yeah JamesDax I hear you!!! I think by September if comcast doesn't add more HD it off to Directv Land. I'll just have live without Comcast Sportsnet. I've had it with comcast bullshit. I also saw somewhere that they will be moving ESPNEWS to the SportsTier soon. If that happens that's the last straw!. I can't believe that comcast keeps advertising that same old commercial with Shaq promoting HD packages. It's a disgrace in their home town of Philadelphia. |

Newtown, PA | FIOS is starting to look pretty good to me. Multi-room DVR, more HD channels, cheaper price... I've been waiting, but Comcast moves at a glacial pace. And not global warming glacial. Ice age glacial. |

Did you see the post about adding HD in Oregon? They added the Big 10 Network in HD. We're in a state that has a Big 10 school and can't get it here but OREGON can! How much sense does that make??????
Comcast should change their name to HodgePodge Cable since that's how they operate. |
