[connectivity] Strange disconnections.

Where I used to live before my modem would disconnect every time someone called, and the phone was picked up. After I moved I thought I had gone to heaven because it stopped happening; the modem had always a steady connection except for one disconnection every now and then. Recently, it started to disconnect again but this time it is not when the phone is picked up but rather the ringing itself is what is messing it up; every time it rings it disconnect on the first ring. It is so bad that sometimes the phone only gets to ring once and the modem somehow stops the call ( when I disconnect the modem calls come through normally).

The other day I changed the cable that was connecting the phone to the phonejack and the problem stopped for a few hours but then it started again. What could have caused this? It was fine for months, why now?

I think that the filters I'm using is failing somehow since the one I had before simply stopped working like a months ago and I had to change it. I think that the one I put now is also failing.

#1 It could be one of your other device(s) does not have a filter?

#2 OR perhaps there is a limit to the number of filters you can put on a phone line?

You can more than one device behind the filter.

We (my parents and I) do.
