MS says to format and install a legit Windows OS. They expect everyone to install a different version for what 3 months or so?

| Didn't they warn about this? That the available use of the RC's would end in June (I think it was June)? This is one reason why I didn't bother installing a RC.
I guess you have to reinstall your original OS until Windows 7 is released? |

I thought the beta expires soon, but the rc one doesn't start rebooting until next year. | reply to Gone Fishing I currently have a 6 year old Dell with Windows XP Home and maxed to 1GB of RAM.
I am definitely getting a newer PC when Win 7 comes out and I am going for Ultimate. No reason to mess with the Home versions anymore. Plus, I like the fact that it takes up to 192GB of RAM.
My issue now is whether to build or buy one already built (HP, Dell, etc). -- Satan is always busy. He makes bad things look good and good things look bad! Watch that Devil. |

 | reply to Gone Fishing Has anyone seen anything on the enterprise licensing costs? Clients keep asking, but none of my vendors seem to know. |

| reply to Gone Fishing I received my preorder for the win 7 system last night stating that the upgrade was only costing 99 for the premium, and I have already ordered it to replace my laptop version of vista. As far as shutoff my rc is still running fine, and even authinticated when I registered the rc version on my desktop. I look forward to the os, and will probably order 1 more to upgrade my desktop. -- up from the ground down from the sky lostsoul will arive |

now what i'm reading is that in order to go to Windows 7 .. i have to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.
If i wanted to go to Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional, i have to do a fresh install.
Does this mean i have to wipe out my HDD to go to 7 Prem or Prof?
Thanks! |

Yes, you'll need to re-install all of your programs. I'm in the same boat. (Vista Ultimate to Home Premium). I may just end up dual-booting until I get all my stuff re-installed and work out any unforseen bugs in the new OS. |

Yep.....same boat here too (V Ultimate to 7 Home Premium), and I'll probably deal with it the same way.
