 Gateway SOLO 5300 + Zyxel G-170S

I have searched and posted and looked everywhere for help, but can't find a solution. I'm at my wit's end, can someone help me? I'm only semi-PC literate, having worked on Macs for 18 years, so please talk down to me!!

I have a Gateway SOLO 5300 running Windows 2000 Professional. I bought a Zyxel G-170S 802.11g Wireless CardBus Card and installed the software. I simply cannot get it to access the wireless internet. Even with the internet cable PLUGGED IN, it won't connect.

If you need further information, please ask. And thank you in advance!
