DSL down 2x in 2 weeks and useless reps... in the U.S.!

First off some venting: DSL+phone went down the 16th due to 'upgrades'. They got phone back up that night, but dsl needed daily call-ins to get them to properly fix it by 20th.

DSL went down again the 23rd and I've been getting no real help from the reps. Tech came on the 25th and said 'pole' problem, and was wrong. Yesterday, the 27th, I got confirmation its entirely the CO and port mapping dept/office/whatever that needs to communicate. Phone rep said he'd include 'plenty of stuff' in the comments and would 'make sure' the problem was fixed by calling and speaking to 'the guy' since he was 'in today so it wouldn't be a problem.' Well, another day later and still no dsl.

The problem: I've got a solid dsl signal, but still no internet.
Yesterday, the rep performed this test: He blocked the port and my dsl signal should have been immediately lost, but my modem still reported a solid signal. Not only that, my modem shows I'm still on the elite profile, which the line can't handle. He had me manually pull the phone line out and only then did I lose the signal. That confirmed the modem was fine. He concluded(let me see if I got this right) that I was on the wrong DSLAM and the 6 mbit profile my modem was reporting belonged to whatever DSLAM they had me connected to.

After they finally fixed it, I got a call to let me know. The rep said it'd taken about an hour to fix once they actually started working on it! One week of downtime because the reps wouldn't listen to me when I said the 6 mbit profile was the cause.
