On one hand, it was in the news that WHAG was charging local cable systems for its signal, even though WRC 4 is available.

They got on Dish Network via must-carry, that is Dish is not paying for the channel.

But they are not on DirecTV, as maybe they opted for retansmission consent.

WRC may user newer, more efficient encoders, although I would be surprised if they were able to deliver comparable quality in 12Mbps. Since it is technically a DC market station, Verizon probably can't add it to the Anne Arundel / Howard county or Baltimore line-ups.

I was surprised to see WHAG 25 show up on 515 on Friday. WHAG doesn't have any sub channels like WRC does so it has the potential to have a better picture since it isn't bandwidth restricted like WRC is. This was in the guide as of last night in Silver Spring.
