Re: [Cable] Digital channels Most modern TVs have QAM digital decoders. The are able to receive non-encrypted digital cable channels.
Digital modulation is much more efficient then analog allowing multiple programs to be broadcast where only a single analog program was possible before.
Sounds like cable provider has programmed Set-top-box to display it a a main channel number instead of a sub-channel to avoid confusion.
