First thing you might try is get the latest drivers directly from Gigabytes website and install and reboot to see if that fixes things,2nd thing to do is try a different monitor, 3rd thing try a video card(disable onboard video) in a slot,and 4th consider the fact you might have short or your motherboard might be a dud. Generally when I upgrade I use all new parts and leave my old computer as a spare until I've used the new one for awhile. Your old monitor might be the root cause possibly.
