Zyxel 645 Prestige UHP Firmware

easyed : I have an older Zyxel 645 Prestige UHP which came from Earthlink that has some pretty old firmware on it. Is there a way to knock off this firmware and find one from Zyxel to put on it? If not, is it because it's locked down to use only Earthlink's firmware? At present, I can get it up on line via AT & T, my present provider but the firmware does not allow me to tweak it. Thank you for any answers.
