| [LA] Slow in Mid-City
My connection slows to a crawl every evening and stays there until whenever I try it again in the morning. Tonight (actually 12:30am), I was pulling down at 2.90 Mbps and putting up at 4.04 (ping 66 ms). It's like this every night, which is the time I need the higher speed the most. Is this the way it is in New Orleans or is something broken. If there's nothing to be done, I'm going back to whatever the basic subscription is for HSI, but it's nice to know that it can hit speeds of 22.15 Mbps when nobody usually is around to use it.
Here is some information about my modem which is an Arris Touchstone: Downstream Freq/Power: 585.000 MHz -2 dBmV Signal to Noise Ratio: 39 dB Modulation: QAM256 Upstream Freq/Power: 24.800 MHz 51 dBmV Channel Type: DOCSIS 1.x (TDMA) Symbol Rate: 2560 kSym/sec Modulation: QAM16 There is no splitter on the cable, it comes directly from the wall. Though it usually routes through a Apple Timecapsule, I have taken the router off to rule that out as an issue.
Thanks for any help. |

| reply to DrKillinger Did you get an answer for this because I have had the exact same issues, they said my levels were fine on the phone, I had somehow got on the preferred tier so I upgraded back up to premier and I'm still getting like 3-4000mbps going through cox's new orleans speedtest and I was getting 50-70ms pings on that site as well, right now I'm able to get 11000mbps and 14-22ms pings, but come on, it should be faster than this, I use to live a mile away in lakeview and I was getting over 20000mbps with premier. |
