Until yesterday night, I was able to get local HD channels (2.1, 4.1, 5.1, 7.1....) with my Limited Basic package. Last night, 4.1 and 13.1 are disapper. My question is am I supposed to get HD local channels with Limited Basic in Irvine? |

| reply to screenname found the answer at »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QAM_tuner . It is interesting that the post talks about " The law does not require the cable provider to advertise their availability, and the cable customer service representatives are known to unequivocally (and incorrectly) insist to customers that a converter box is mandatory to view any HD channels.". This is the exact respond I got when I called COX. |

| Interestingly the Cox channel lineup page here in the OKC market notes that "Clear QAM HDTV sets will receive local HD broadcast channels without equipment rental" in the fine print at the bottom of the page. The actual channel assignments are not published however.

| reply to screenname Yes, it's not common knowledge amongst our front line technical support personnel but typically any HD programming that's accessible with an antenna will usually be available on Cox without the use of a converter box. Subscription programming is another matter. |

Rescaning has not reestablished the OTA channels |

| reply to SoonerAl For Orange County, CA, the channel list is at »ww2.cox.com/residential/orangeco···neup.cox . At the bottom of the page, it states "Cox Limited Basic service and HD receiver or CableCARD required for local HD channels." |
