Big 3 working overtime in retention depts for wireless

It’s getting closer for the new wireless carriers to open up shop, you may not have seen any prices budge for new customers at the usual carriers, but it seems like the retention departments for the big 3 cartel are working overtime, a friend of mine who was out of contract with Bell got a deal I have never seen before, Rogers is also working out deals that blow away anything they ever had, as for Telus, I cant say anything as I don’t know anybody using them, but I’m sure they are scrambling to hold on to customers (chime in any Telus people and tell us what you got).

I myself am not in a contract anymore and I know many who aren’t either and all these people are waiting for companies like Globalive to see what their offerings will be, but it seems like the cartel are dropping their pants in retentions and locking customers up for another 3 years, I’m assuming the cartel as time gets closer, will start offering even better limited time deals in retentions and for new customers, then locked them up for 3 years.
Many of us have seen the rumour of Telus going to offer the iphone in October, its obvious Telus is about to make some kind of move in their plans, especially with their data, I myself also would like an iphone, as I can actually use many of its features, but I’m not going to get massaged by the cartels schemes right now.

I am predicting a price war of some kind in August as its getting closer to back to school and the Globalive threat , as for Rogers limited time 6 gig data deal, I can see them extending that , don’t discount Globalive, these people are backed by a ton of money and alot more than the other new carriers coming in.

My personal opinion is, better things will come if you WAIT, don’t get massaged by the cartel, if you just have to have that iphone, go take a cold shower and wait a bit.
