Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

I just got a hand on a Linksys SPA 2102 ATA adapter and I am having trouble accessing its setup page. How do get into the admin setup? Do I need to unlock it first? I tried following some of the instructions that I found, (connecting, calling #### and password) but they didn't work.

Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

What does Customization field on Info page show on your device? If it shows Customized, then the device is factory locked to specific VoSP. In this case, you need to contact DogFace05 to have your device un-customized, a.k.a completely unlocked.

Re: Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

I can't get into the setup page. I connect phone line, PC and modem but 192.168.0.1 gets me nowhere...

How do I get to the admin page?

Thanks!

Have you tried setting IVR command 7932 to 1?

Re: Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

I'll give it a try one more time. I found the following instructions as well... When I connect ata, modem, pc and phone and pick up the phone, it is dead because there is no connection, right? Am I supposed to just dial as per instructions below and get the response???

On the Linksys, web admin access is disabled. To enable it, pick up phone, dial **** then 723646# , when asked for password, dial 78778839# , when asked for value dial 1# then dial 1 to save.
Then, go to »192.168.0.1/admin/voice/advanced , enter user and password.

You might need to disconnect WAN cable and try that procedure after.

Google unlocking SPA 2102

Read the links on the first page. There are several versions, passwords, etc on how to proceed.

I had to go through this when I unlocked my SunRocket Gizmo to work with other voip services.

I now have a SPA 2102 I bought new. To your question about what you hear on the phone prior to entering codes I'm not sure and can't get to my ata at the moment.

Read the Google page.

When I dial **** i now get a female voice, however 78778839 doesn't work as a password, she says "invalid". I dialed option 110#, i get 216.254.112.110 but this url still doesn't get me to the admin page...

What do I do?

Re: Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

The unlocking instructions you find on the Internet are only applicable for adapters from specific providers. They are all based on prior knowledge of certain characteristics (eg, weaknesses) of or settings (usually leaked passwords) in the configurations provisioned into their adapters by said providers. None of the methods are generally applicable to any arbitrary provider's adapters.

The password 78778839 is only relevant to SPA2102s provisioned by Sunrocket during a specific time period while they were in operation. At the time of Sunrocket's demise, the company was already provisioning these adapters with a completely different password. Furthermore, the factory reset default password in SR's SPA2102s is yet another value, one that is so long that it cannot be entered by IVR.

In any case, you'll only be able to unlock your SPA2102, following instructions devised for Sunrocket SPA2102s, if and only if you have a Sunrocket locked SPA2102. You will have to determine if that is the case with your adapter.

To do that, you need to browse to the adapter's user level pages at its LAN side IP address, from a computer connected into its LAN port (yellow, labeled "Ethernet"). You'll obtain the SPA2102's LAN side IP address by entering the IVR, and dialing 210# (not 110#, which reports its WAN side IP).

If you have a Sunrocket SPA2102, you should be taken right into the basic user level page by browsing to its LAN side IP address. There, under the Info tab, look for the "Customization" field. If it shows "Sunrocket", you have a Sunrocket customized adapter, in which case you should be able to unlock it with the video instructions, or the Live-CD method.

If not, and you intend to unlock it yourself, your only alternative is to find instructions specifically devised for SPA2102s from the provider to whom it's locked. You may be able to identify a provider by looking for a suffix to the SPA2102 model name. For example, if it's labeled SPA2102-AN, it will be a unit from ACN Digital. Although the most common source of SPA2102s is the now defunct Sunrocket, there are many other providers who have supplied or currently supply this adapter.

Re: Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

Looks like it's been configured for bridged mode then, so the LAN port is now actually collocated with the WAN port. If that's the case, you'll have to access it at the WAN IP (and hope that the web interface is enabled there). Dial IVR command 170# to find out what port the web interface is listening at (if at all). Then try browsing to http://wanip:port, where you replace wanip with the IP reported by IVR command 110# (216.254.112.110, if still the same as in one of your posts), and port with the port number reported by 170#.

The 110# command gives me 0.0.0.0 now - can I use that as a wanip?

No, that's not a valid IP. It means your WAN port has not obtained an IP address from any DHCP server on your network. BTW, was it (the WAN port) unplugged when you dialled 110#. You need to have it plugged in to a network segment where there is an active DHCP server to hand out an IP address to it. Alternatively to DHCP, you can assign it static IP settings via IVR. To do that, you need to issue the following IVR commands:

1) 101#1#1 - Select static settings (vs DHCP)
2) 111#192*168*1*2#1 - Replace 192*168*1*2 with an
IP address appropriate to your
LAN.

Re: Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

well, I was able to reset the ip address to 192.168.1.2 using the 111# function but the webserver seems to be disabled. Option 100# reads me back: staticip. option 101# asks for a password which I don't know and I can't get to the admin... really appreciate your help, thanks.

Re: Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

my model reads spa 2102 at the bottom, without -r. is there any way to figure out if this is skyrocket? Is this different from spa 2102-r?

All Sunrocket SPA2102s I've come across shipped labeled SPA2102-R. However, not all SPA2102-Rs are necessarily Sunrocket's. The -R means that the adapter is factory configured with a default provisioning rule set to "RC". This setting makes the adapter, when fresh out of the box, remote customize (hence "RC") with default settings obtained from a secure HTTPS server at sipura.net. Until the adapter has successfully performed this remote customization, its web interface's Info page will show it as being in a "Customization: Pending" state, in which its voice functions and all admin level features are disabled. Cisco/Linksys/Sipura match the adapter's MAC address with the provider who ordered it, and customize it with default settings according to the provider's instructions. Following the customization, the Customization field will report the name of the provider, which will be "Sunrocket" in Sunrocket's case.

Examples of some other companies that ship SPA2102 adapters that are remote customized and labeled -R or -R1, and where the customization field shows the company's name, are Broadvoice, Clearwire, italkbb, HawkVoip (Joiphone).

So, just from a -R suffix, it's not possible to conclude conclusively whether the adapter is from Sunrocket. Similarly, it may be possible that some Sunrocket SPA2102s shipped that were not labeled -R. However, since your adapter does not have the -R, and does not exhibit the characteristics typical of Sunrocket units (among others, the ability to log into the user level page at the standard port 80, without a password), it's highly unlikely that you have one of theirs.

To find out what you have, I suggest you try my suggestions in the following thread: »[Unlock] SPA2102 - locked to which provider?

Hi Dogface05,
I read quite a few threads on your expertise on unlocking VOIP routers. I got a spa2102-r from Italkbb that I no longer used for their service. For this router, I can only log in as user (Username: user; pw: 1234), but I would like to be able to log in as admin, which I could not find a password anywhere on the web.
The other funny thing about this router is that it does not have a 'reset' button on it. So there is no way I can do a hard reset.
Is there anyway you can help?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Linksys SPA 2102 ATA

I can definitely unlock your SPA2102-R, but I do it as a paid service. In consideration of this and other sites' spam rules, I do not and will not discuss my services on any public fora. However, you're welcome to contact me in private (through this site's IM system) regarding the subject.

Dogface05 is the man.......
He unlocked my two SPA-2102AN devices........ he NAized it........ that means no matter what I do with the device, upgrade firmware, reset, factory reset, etc......... it will never goto ACN locked state again..........
all you do is give your IP address, device's MAC address and other few details and he can unlock the device for you remotely.........
Mine was unlocked in less than 300 seconds..........
just send him a IM......

Allow me to tell you that DogFace05 can also provide an unlocking service (not free, but all reports are that it is reasonable and works very well) if you can't get it yourself. You'll have to PM him to set it up to have it done, forum rules prohibit soliciting business.

I've never been DF05's customer and likely won't be (I don't plan on purchasing any locked adapters) but it's pretty clear that he can apply a bulletproof unlocking to the Linksys devices.

Edit to fix a mipsellings.

Here are codes you can use on the device (hit the pound key after the option):

Check DHCP 100
Enable/Disable DHCP 101
Check IP address 110
Set IP address 111 (use * for period)
Check Network Mask 120
Set Mask 121
Check Gateway 130
Set Gateway 131
Check MAC 140
Check Firmware version 150
Check DNS 160
Set DNS 161
Check Web Server Port 170
Enable/Disable Web Server 7932 (may require password)
Manual Reboot 732668
User Factory Reset (only changes user settings) 877778
Factory Reset (all non default settings change) 79738

Hope this helps. I use these in a private network environment.

DogFace,
I have a Linksys SPA 2102-r I unlocked. Would you share with me what needs to be done to make it so I can factory reset the device and not have to re-hack the device again. I would love to cleanse the SunRocket settings from the device for good.
Thanks,

If you unlock it I don't know why you will need to do a factory reset ever. You can disable provisioning.
If you want the ability to do safe factory reset, IM Dogface05 and for a small fee he will make you worry free

I just had DogFace05 NAize my device. It was quick easy and inexpensive. He does fine work and is easy to deal with. Feel comfortable getting him to De-SunRocket the 2102-R that you own.

After dozens of factory resets tonight, every one allowed me to get in to admin access without having to re-hack the password.

BTW, If you set the "Distinctive Ring Patterns" under the "Regional" tab in "Advanced" mode to the following:
Ring1 Cadence: 60(.1/1)
Ring2 Cadence: 60(.1/1)
Ring3 Cadence: 60(.1/1)
Ring4 Cadence: 60(.1/1)
Ring5 Cadence: 60(.1/1)
Ring6 Cadence: 60(.1/1)
Ring7 Cadence: 60(.1/1)
Ring8 Cadence: 60(.1/1)
Ring8 Cadence: 60(.1/1)

You get standard solid rings, not the funky halting/stop-start ring tone the unit usually gives, via factory defaults.

It seems the the first number is modulation and the second number is tempo. So this is 1 with 1 beat. you could do 60(.1/2) and this would ring, stop, ring. I don't yet know what the 60 does. The format is every number in the () must be preceded by a . except the last. the last should not have the .
