[Help Me] clearing the nvram on a Dgl 4500

Is it safe to clear the nvram on a Dgl 4500? Im just afraid i might damage the router. The reason im asking is because i read in different forms that it's a good idea to do it before and after you flash the router with new firmware. I installed the new 1.20na on the router but want to re-flash it. But before i do that i want to clear the nvram. Any help would be appreciated.

Connect it to a wired desktop
Disconnect the cable modem
On the desktop turn off your firewall, anti-virus/spyware etc..

Just take your time, don't rush..

What is the firmware version on the unit now. Then repeat the process..

when i went to the properties of the firmware i downloaded it says modified date of 4/29/09 so think that is where it got date from so do you think i should download the firmware again reinstall it or should i just leave it, cause it seems to be running fine.

If it's running fine just leave it. You can always download the current firmware to use later if you have issues. Other than that I would keep using what your using now.

Uh oh...

If you start having problems let me know. If anything is gonna happen it will start within about 72 hours of the last reboot. Trust me...you can't miss this so you will know.
