phantom6294 posted : So, I got an email from Comcast today saying my speeds had been upgraded. From the link it would seem to imply DOCSIS 3.0 has gone live in my area (Abingdon, Harford County, MD). Problem is... I am not getting what they claim and am seeing worse speeds than I was before.

I have Blast! and used to see speed test results (Powerboost) in the ~30Mbps range. Even though the email I got claims download speeds of up to 20Mbps with Powerboost, I am seeing zero Powerboost. Speed test are showing a solid 16Mbps and no speed increase at the beginning of the download.

Though I can't say 100%, I thought my upload was on QAM64 as well, but am currently showing QAM16. Overall signals look good.

So much for the "upgrade." Maybe I can get Comcast to "downgrade" me to my previous speeds.

Sigh... and all this after going 5 days with no dial tone and no internet. Yay!

bmxrider379 posted : I've had almost the same problem for the past 2 months, they were doing upgrades for the D3 rollout and killed my signals. Originally my problem was upstream they came out and ran a new line from my house to the box didn't get it in spec but alot better than it was. A few weeks after that I get a surprise visit from a tech saying that my levels were not in spec (duh) and he was going to try and fix them, I have a booster on the main line into the house what he did was split the main line by passing the booster for the line the modem is on because the booster affects the upstream signal. That fixed the Upstream now I have a problem with downstream the modem seems to be fine its running around 36SNR and a power level of -8 to -11, the internet's fine. This was 5 or 6 weeks ago, the tech told me there were going to come run a thicker line from my house to the box and turn up the signal for the whole street. Since then nothing has changed, like I said the internet is fine its the TV in the same room as the modem I can't even watch it, its fuzzy.
