Qualification

So I'm moving to a new home and I checked ATT.com and dslextreme.com to see if I qualify for DSL. ATT said I do not, but DSLX says I do. Is that right? I thought DSLX used/piggybacked on ATT's hardware, so if ATT can't supply me with DSL, how is DSLX able to?

Re: Qualification

Hi gkwon002 -

Are you checking by the phone number at the new location. If you are entering the phone number that is tied to the old location, it may be looking at the old location.

I would recommend giving our customer service team a call at 800-774-3379. They can run a test in the backend systems and see if the new location qualifies.

Thanks

Re: Qualification

nope, i did not do a phone # check, as I do not have one. i did an address check and the site had to do some special check (forgot the exact term) that took a day or 2.

Re: Qualification

Hi gkwon002,

If you live in an ATT area you will have to qualify with the phone number and address to get an accurate result as ATT requires a landline phone installed for us to be the ISP.

Although DSLEX does piggy back on ATT lines we have less strict requirements for loop length then ATT so sometimes it will qualify you for the 384-768 plan or the 384-1500 plan. Since those plans have MINIMUM acceptable sync rates dont expect anything faster then 384/384 sync rate if you sign up.
