| New offerings and exciting changes
(La version française suit.)
Dear Valued Customer,
Upcoming changes: as of July 1st 2009
Over the last month we have been testing new equipment at our main point of presence that would allow us to extend MLPPP offerings into an officially supported product. The tests have been successful and we are happy to announce that you can now purchase access to our MLPPP network for $4 per month. The $4 charge gives you the option to choose between a static or dynamic IP which includes Usenet / NNTP binary access.
MLPPP stands for "Multi-Link Point-to-Point Protocol" and gives you the ability to "bond" multiple DSL connections together to act as one fast connection. For example if you have 2 DSL connections at the same residence (or business) with us you can switch to MLPPP and have those 2 connections operate as if they were 1 big connection.
Single link connections (people with 1 DSL connection) can simply enable MLPPP in their Windows dialer or purchase supported third party hardware.
Third party hardware is required for multiple connections bonded together.
To order MLPPP visit our website at »www.teksavvy.com and click on the Add-On order form. Under the MLPPP section choose MLPPP with Static IP or MLPPP with Dynamic IP, scroll to the bottom, click next and follow instructions.
Alternatively, you can register an account on DSLReports (»/, free registration required) and post a request in the TekSavvy Direct Forum (»/forum/teksavdirect). Be certain to include your name, username, and customer number if you happen to know it so that we can make the changes to the account.
NOTES: When switching to our MLPPP service your username used to connect to our network will also change.
Dynamic vs Static IP : Dynamic IP's change each time you connect to our network and are all you need if you using the internet for general web surfing and email.
With a static IP your IP address is always the same when you connect to our network. If you plan to manage your network remotely or if you plan to run servers you may need a static IP. Some employers also require employees working from home to have a static IP.
Twitter: Hello, we have something to share!
Do you like to know what's going on? Would you like it if the CEO of your ISP was keeping you informed as to what's going on? We've got the answer for you, Twitter!

| reply to TSI Steve So if you only have one DSL line and you get the MLPPP option, then in the future you get a 2nd DSL line do you have to pay the $4 on that line too?
Also with a 2nd DSL line is that considered "Dry loop" and if so would you have to pay the 'Band Rate' |

And BigSensFans, good questions as well. Looking forward to seeing those answered too! |

I was one of the first to signup at the start of the month and it took 12mins from the time I posted in the direct forum until I had a new login. it's a very seamless thing. |

What if you're already paying $4 for a static IP? Since this new mlppp charge gives a static IP address does that mean the old $4 for a static IP is redundant? |
