DOCSIS 3.0 Available in Lakewood, CO + some other areas

Okay, we need to have a DOCSIS 3.0 Availability in Colorado listing now.

Cjaiceman has the 22/5 tier and he is in Aurora, CO. I'm in Lakewood, CO and my SB6120 is now on D3.

Business customers can order D3 right now. The rest of us have to wait a few more months before we get access to D3 tiers but anyone with a D3 modem in the metro area should notice greater speed reliability at the least.

Yes you will notice better constant speeds, because of the bonded channels on the downstream side. Or atleast you should, There shouldnt be as many slowdowns during peak hours.

Hmmm...maybe us too. We had some downtime on Friday, and noticed I am on different channels/frequencies...but I am still waiting on my D3 modem, should be here sometime this week.

But, for now my 'normal' upload is going beyond the usual 22 down...can hit the 27+ mark (boosted), and the upload is the usual 10.

I haven't heard anything about the Colorado Springs market being cut over to D3 yet. We have CO region daily communications and only the Denver metro has been mentioned so far. I imagine that the Springs will be among the last to get the D3 upgrade simply because D3 is primarily being targeted at business customers and we have little (if any) business serviceability out there right now.

Interesting, ethram. I talked to some of the comcast biz reps and they said the 22/5 would be available in the area very soon.

Then how come I can't order the 50/10? I've had the 22/5 since March 3rd. When I tried to get them to move my modem to 50/10 it basically turned into a giant pile of s$&%, at one point they couldn't get my modem to accept anything other than the 6/1 residential, although after rebuilding my account it went back to the 22/5, but still couldn't get the 50/10 to work at all. Its frustrating because I want my 50/10 I'd love to get my 50/10 working, or even the rumored 100/15.

I don't work in business services so I don't know about 50/10 but I do know that 22/5 is available widespread throughout business services now. Maybe try calling them tomorrow and trying 50/10 again?

Well, I might... last time was just such a monumental failure (insert amusing picture of the FAIL BOAT). I think I will wait a little bit, let them get it figured out and then try again...

DOCSIS 3.0 Available in Parker, CO

Parker Colorado has D3, just for the record...

As with Cjaiceman, I experienced a nightmare today of "tech support" from hell. Two tier 1 people and one tier 2 all said that I wasn't allowed to have my own modem for business class and that because my modem (SB6120) was "so slow" that it couldn't support anything more than 6/1...After an hour and a half of that I hung up on them and posted here on the private forum. I'm sure it will be fixed tomorrow by ComcastSteve...

So for now I'm stuck on 6/1 residential - That must be Comcast's fallback when nothing is working...

Re: DOCSIS 3.0 Available in Lakewood, CO + some other areas

I was pretty excited when I read the post about D3 availability in Denver, and called Comcast this morning to inquire about upgrading my $99 a month 16/2 business account.

The official response I got back from the rep quoted me a max speed of 22/5 with automatic upgrade when 50/10 service becomes available, however the price would jump from $99 a month to $189.95 a month.

THAT'S INSANE FOR A BUSINESS INCREASE FROM 16/2 to 22/5.

I can't help but feel like Comcast is trying to jack me on this business account. Unfortunately I have 6 more months in my contract before I can move my accounts to Qwest. At least Qwest never played pricing games like this.

Just wait till after D3 officially rolls out in Denver, then the 22/5 should only be $10 more than what your paying. Although some areas have D3, its not officially rolled out yet so thats why there is the price jump, to keep too many people from going to the 22/5 until the network is ready to handle a lot of people with that kind of demand.

I hope so. What I was told that once the new speeds are out there, with what I am paying now (99/mo), my speed would increase that would be equal to what they offer on D3. But then again, this is Comcast...

Well, just wait and see. Normally the 16/2 is $89/month and the 22/5 (when launched on D3) will be $99/month. Most likely you will need a D3 modem as 22/5 is a lot of strain on a single cable channel.

Yeah I know I'm going to have to do a modem switch out. I got the SMC modem still.

Thanks for the info! I just wish the sales people at Comcast were this educated:)

Wow! Your bonded on 4 channels and have 64QAM? You probably have some nice speeds, right?

Theoretically, when they get his connection working correctly it should test something close to mine:

We aren't that far from each other, so it should be pretty close, they are just having a hard time getting his SB6120 running correctly.

Any word on Denver itself? I'm out at 6th and Downing. Considering purchasing a D3 modem, but will only do so if we have D3 out here.
