[IA] Tired of wasting my money.

I hate the fact that my bill has continually increased while I get the same service. What are my options? I called a few months back and got 20% off which was nice but that ran out. When I called again today they simply told me there isn’t anything they could do for me. I have looked at other providers but there isn’t any with even close to 8mpbs service. Is there no competing companies anymore?

Have you tried calling back? It appears the mood of the customer service you speak to as far as what you receive in this department (special pricing).

I've never tried it before, but I know a few people in this forum, such as openbox9 See Profile have been able to get their special discounts/rates extended time and time again.

I paid $115.24 back on 12/01/2006 and now pay $122.41 per month, so I'd hardly cal that "continually increased", as it's only a 6% increase in 30 months, and I haven't changed anything. I take family cable, DVR, and 8/512 internet. Wish I could say that about gas & food costs the past 30 months. And I'm not going to list all the HD channels that have been added, let alone the 8 that will be added on 7/10 Sooner or later, your going to have to pay the regular price, as you can't stay on the "intro" prices forever.

You can always downgrade to the 3Mbs Internet
What do you use the net for?

I know you mention the 8 Mbps but, with the upcoming changes with D3 at the end of the year all speeds will (should get turned up)
You can also look in to Satellite TV If possible and/or really go down to Broadcast basic (like I have)

Iowa student, do you have any specific info about speeds getting turned up? What kind of bonus should I expect with doc 3.0? Or do you think they will just add new tiers and keep prices steady instead?

No one has specific data, just speculation. D3 even being released by the end of the year is speculation.

Personally, I am not happy with their pricing either, but you have said that nobody else has 8mpbs service... that's why you pay more.
