get yourself a Kill-A-Watt before making drastic measures.

you would be surprised how little a computer plus all monitors can use.

my Bunn Coffee maker costs me more per month then my computer.

and my desktop has 4 disk drives, big monitor, dual core, 4 gigs ram, all that jazz.

computers generally only use above 250 watts power when things kick in like playing a big game. other than that like surfing in windows they don't use much.

look into it.

Actually I have kill-a-watt that's why I can estimate the watts being used.
