Re: What happend to summer? [NE-OH]

All I can say is I remember when I was a kid. It was swimming most days between Memorial Day and Labor Day. I use to watch the weather as a little kid as a hobby, I don't ever remember this many days straight with highs only in the 60's like today and tomorrow's forecast. Our normal highs are in the upper 70's low 80's this time of the year.

I grew up on the shores of Lake Erie (Conneaut, OH) and I can remember hurrying home from school and going down to the beach to go swimming... in the lake... in late May. That was over 50 years ago, but I'm sure the seasons have shifted somewhat. I've attend more football games in the fall, wearing shorts and a T-shirt than I have baseball games in the spring. We've even had a couple of baseball games snowed out! Think of Cleveland last year!

Temps running some 15-20 degrees below normal. Tomorrow's forecast is 65, the normal high for tomorrow is 81. It seems like when winter hangs on until mid April like it has last year and this year we have this. 2003 and 2004 were also very similar, not only cooler than normal but those were the years we had all the flooding. I remember winter dragging those years as well. In contrast, I remember 2005-2007 being relatively warm. Winter 2005-2006 was our last "mild" winter if you look back at the climate records.
