| reply to dirtyjeffer Re: [Hockey] Official UFA trade thread
Colton Orr is just what the Leafs need. A 4th liner that can't play.
The leafs really need the big sexy name because they need something to build around. Schenn is nice, but he's not Stevens, Neinds, Lindstrom, Coffey, Green, Chara, Orr. At best Schenn is Mark Howe. Which is still damn good but you need more then that.
At this point Kabarle will not resign in Toronto. So Burke has to do something. |

Orr can play...he isn't there to give you 20 goals...he is there to help protect the other young players and keep people honest out there...last year, in many games, the Leafs got pushed around too much...you don't want Schenn and White fighting...that isn't going to "scare" anyone...you need to have someone the other team will have to answer to, should things go that way. -- Today's motto: Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today to bid farewell to personal responsibility and accountability. |

| reply to dirtyjeffer said by dirtyjeffer :Leafs add some toughness in Colton Orr...four years, 1 million per year...that should help out in the toughness department, because the Leafs don't really have anyone since they traded Belak. A million a year to protect Schenn from himself is cheap (Don't get me wrong, I love Schenn's willingness to stand up for his teammates, but that's not why we drafted him fourth overall)
Let Orr get the bruised knuckles

Here is the list of players available you tell us who out of these players will be this big sexy name the Leafs should go after and why you think this player will go to the Leafs. Because i don't see a big name coming to the leafs. -- The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continuously fearing you will make one.

As for Kaberle not resign, he still has 2 years left on his contract. He's going to be gone by the end of summer. |

Interesting, the way that Kubina plays (The ultimate Jekyll & Hyde player, one minute is scoring a highlight reel goal and the next giving the puck away like was in pee wee hockey) I'm wondering what Atlanta will give us back?
I can't see this as a salary dump move only, Leafs are way under the cap from the reports I've read...

| $53 million of the $62 million is for the first 7 years...i suppose it guarantees some, and if he retires early, they can spread out the difference fairly easily...maybe not as risky as i first thought. -- Today's motto: Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today to bid farewell to personal responsibility and accountability. |

Wouldn't you rather sign Chris Neil or Todd Fedork for more money but a lot better production. |
