2 edits | reply to dirtyjeffer Chris Neil isn't all he's cracked up to be. The problem since Belak was traded away was the Leafs had "tough guys" who would always get their asses handed to them. Neil is one of those guys too. Much better to have a true heavyweight. We have enough guys who think they can fight.
Colton Orr fits the bill very nicely. |

Now that's some sandpaper. |

| Say what you want, but I think it's a great deal. It protects Schenn from getting injured in a fight, and allows the smaller forwards a little more freedom. I'm just saying the Habs won't be running Leafs D-men into the end boards from the faceoff dot anymore. |

| well, they did have Deveaux, but, he wasn't really that good (considering how big he is)...Orr is a league heavyweight, which is something the Leafs need. -- Today's motto: Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today to bid farewell to personal responsibility and accountability. |

Burke wouldn't want someone on the team that wasn't willing to go through a wall for his teammates. Koivu is skilled don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure he's what the Leafs need right now (C or not to C)

| reply to dirtyjeffer said by dirtyjeffer :the Hossa deal is 12 years, $62 million and apparently front end loaded...i don't like these kinds of deals...oh well, it's Chicago's problem now. Can I help him pack his bags? The guy was a ghost in the last two rounds of the playoffs this year, and the Wings have kids coming up that will develop into impact players. Between him and Chelios leaving town (the Wings announced some weeks ago that they would not be resigning Chelios), finally some of the young kids can come up from Grand Rapids. Maybe Helm will finally have his rookie season.... -- Do not mistake kindness for weakness. |

| reply to noelstrom I don't think that was indicative of his play. All the analysts so far think that this moves Chicago much closer to Detroit's level.
The big question is how Huet will be between the pipes. I give it 50/50 -- It's one thing to listen to an idiot talk. As soon as you respond, there are now 2 idiots having a conversation. |

| reply to noelstrom yea, i agree with you...i have nothing against Chelios, but it is time to let go and move on...and Hossa looks like he is finally going to settle in...Detroit has solid youth that need to move up and Helm is a perfect example of that. -- Today's motto: Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today to bid farewell to personal responsibility and accountability. |

Noooo....
Gotta hand it to Burke. He's really beefing up the team.
Hal Gill to the Canadiens. He should have stayed in Pittsburgh. |
