Re: [HSI] T3 Timeouts

According to the techs my upstream power level was too high. It should be no higher than 50 and mine was at 52. They explained that the power levels fluctuate and if they go over 55 it can cause a disconnect. They did some work outside and as a result my level averages about 48 now.

Upstream Power 48.5 dBmV

Basically, most current modems can only put out 55. So if you are putting out 55 and suddenly need more power, you loose connection. If you are putting out 50 and need more power you have the headroom (50-55) to be able to draw on. Some of the early Linksys modems could only put out 50, which caused a lot of problems with charter.

they could of told u this from the office also u should of been able to look at ur modems config page to monitor the levels. They most likely put on some kind of filter to fix this.?. So basically they installed your service improperly and made you have a bunch of trouble calls where the mis diagnosed their original error.
