as long as it is just not me. CoxTech1 has informed me:

"I've just been advised that upgrades are planned for on or about the evening of the 13th to add downstream capacity. We'll need to check then to see if there is any improvement."

hopefully this will fix my issue.

I think it might be helpful to post that iceprizm See Profile's problem is node related and efforts are under way to correct the issue. Your issue is not related to the issue he's having, your node checks out fine with regards to capacity/utilization.

"this is ridiculous........i have had technicians come out and they could never find anything wrong. the connection speed is always fine during the day, but after 6pm or so i am lucky to get 4-5M"

Ice,

I and others are experiencing the same thing in AZ and as of now Cox wants to do a truck roll to my home and "capture" the problem IF they can. If you have not contacted CoxTech1 via IM please do.

this is ridiculous........i have had technicians come out and they could never find anything wrong. the connection speed is always fine during the day, but after 6pm or so i am lucky to get 4-5Mb. this has been going on for many months, the last technician i talked to told me that this was a known issue with an "overloaded" node and it would be fixed in 1 month time.
now it seems that the tech was just BSing me as Coxtech1 sees no issue with my node.

I live just east of Green Valley. I have not noticed any speed problems. I have noticed possible DNS issues where, when I initially try a web site, it comes up "Not Found", but when I refresh the site, it works. My speed test at the DSLReports L.A. site at about 10:40 pm.

My test at Cox's Las Vegas site (»test.lvcm.com/):

   Down: 31348 kbps
Up: 1712 kbps

every day around 6pm my speeds drop to around 3Mb dl. the next morning my speeds are back to 15Mb.
I have had cox techs come out, all levels are within spec.

I was told that there is an overloaded node in my area that is causing the poor speeds.

I was also told that my issue would not be fixed for about a month.

Has anyone else heard of this overloaded node? Is cox actually doing anything about it?

I cant see paying for the premier level when i cant dl above 4Mb.
