<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/830709"><b>pablo2525</b></A> : Hiya!<br><br>Sorry to be so cryptic.  `make' is used to create a `target' from a user-defined set of rules.  `make' is typically used to compile a program.  However, you can also think of taking .html and compiling it into .txt (say, using lynx).  And you could use `make' for this task.<br><br>The `-j' option to `make' instructs it to create multiple parallel `jobs'  Suppose you had 30 `c' programs which make up a library, you could compile up to `-j 8' (eight) simultaneously. I ran a `make clean' between each run.<br><br>-j8   = 58.03s<br>-j16 = 57.75s<br><br>Didn't seem to make too much difference.
