belkin n1 cant connect to wireless?

simp2005 : hi
i bought a belkin n1 wireless router round 2 week ago and have spent most of that time trying to set it up so its connected just to my modem in 1 room then a pc in 2 separate rooms. I've followed the instructions to setup the router as specified by belkin but have never been able to find the wireless network with any of my 2 computers. both computers do find other networks in my area though. does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I've got my PC's firewall currently off and also no security setup on the router . i do get the wired, router, modem and internet lights all lit up in blue when running wired through my router. any ideas would be a great help
thanks
