Re: Voip 800 # possible ?

I'm actually doing this for a friends business. I'm trying to eliminate the cost of long distance to the business.

if you're looking for free, stop looking. there is no such aminal as free minutes on a toll-free number. Long ago there was a company that offered free minutes, but you had to pay a monthly fee of $1500 + a T1 loop fee of about double the market price. VOIP doesn't make stuff free, it makes it less expensive than traditional services, usually by packaging multiple services into a single package.

Well I guess I should have been more specific. I have Voip on my home line. I do not pay for long distance. That's where I got 'free' from. Bad choice of words I guess.

so you have a VOIP service for a fee, and that fee includes long distance minutes.

Almost... on my service there is no such thing as long distance. They are all local calls.
