We lost connection this morning, and now things have been on/off for the past hour or so. At least it gave me an excuse to go run some errands for a while, since I couldn't get any work done! |

| reply to synchron I lost my connection to the internet around 10:30 AM this morning (Cable TV is okay). At first I had four solid lights (power/recieved/send/online) on my Moto Surfboard modem, but no internet access. I then re-cycled my modem and ended up with three solid lights (power/recieved/send) and one blinking light ("online").
Anyone else experience an internet outage this morning in the Pacoima/Arleta area? |

| reply to synchron They were able to connect to my modem remotely. They told me there was a major outage and that it wasn't my equipment. Some engineer called me later on to confirm my MAC address and said that they were doing their best to resolve this outage, and thanked me for helping them. They also changed from saying we will have this working immediately to we are working to resolve this as quickly as possible.
For some reason I have my doubts that my modem just broke at the same time that many many people within 2 miles of me are complaining about the same outage. |

Day 3, my internet is still down.
Have you had a tech come by to verify signals to your modem are good?

I spent hours and hours on the phone yesterday. They kept re-assuring me that it would be fixed quickly. Nope. No dice.
Wow.
Being that I work from home and I am a web developer, this has been a major problem.
3 days really? |

| reply to synchron Hey guys. I was wonder for months if i was the only person calling TWC because of my slow/spiky connection i've had this issue since last year (started in Oct.) and its continued to get worse. I've been on the phone with TWC techs at least once a month and they always give me the same BS. Most of the time they tell me "well it looks like the server your connected to is running at max capacity" they always say that it will be fixed usually within 24-48hrs that all they have to do is move me from server. Well this last time i spoke to someone that said it wont be fixed until probably the end of the month... thats very promising.. anyhow just thought i would post up my issue here i live in Arleta Btw. Anyone else near me hear anything about this? |

Been having intermittent to complete outage since mid last week. Many calls to tech support did not help and ended us telling me there was a major outage. Why didn't tell me in the beginning without going through all the troubleshooting steps, everytime?
I tried to power cycle the modem and see if that fix the issue. Every power cycle leave the modem with all solid lights, and blinking from time to time. Nothing yet....I hope it will be fixed asap. |

1 edit | reply to synchron I got disconnected a few times overnight and during the late morning and afternoon. Speeds did seem slower too.
Last night, I noticed my e-mails to RR.com are having issues on my friend's FIOS Linux box: mailq showed: EA83B1C2470 2237 Wed Jul 15 18:56:43 foobar@zimage.com (host hrndva-smtpin02.mail.rr.com[71.74.56.244] refused to talk to me: 421 4.7.1 - Connection refused - - Too many concurrent connections from source IP)
Also, I seem to get randomly disconnected on it with SSH sessions. I have to use another SSH account on another Linux box (DSLextreme) to three. |

1 edit | reply to Steve atwater Speed and latency seem to be back to acceptable levels sometime around 5-6 pm today here near Eagle Rock.
Most websites were very slow and timing out for most of the morning today.
Here's hoping the problems won't come back again. They started surfacing yesterday near the early evening, disappeared a few hours laters, and then come back this morning. |

| reply to Santa Monica Too Beverly Hills here. I was told my TWC that the problem is an accidental fiber cut in the area, possibly by a construction crew. The traffic is being routed to other networks but the demand is saturating the capacity of those networks, causing some people to have intermittent/slow connectivity. I hope they get this resolved soon, alot of people are depending on the network here... |

| reply to Santa Monica Too Okay, I just got off the phone with Road Runner tech support, and they said that starting "last night" (7/14/09) there has been a "slow to complete outage" in the Los Angeles area including Santa Monica.
They currently don't have an estimated time to repair.
Suck. I'll keep us updated if I hear anything. |

| reply to Santa Monican I'm in Santa Monica too, and I've been getting very very slow DL speeds and incredibly slow ping times as well (15% of my pings to Google and Yahoo timeout) just starting yesterday afternoon (and it seemed to be better this morning, but it's been slow again starting around 1pm).
I wonder if there is something going on locally yesterday and today. I'll call - if I get through I'll let you know what they say. |

said by SanDiegoLV :I've had 3 prolonged outages in the past 2 weeks here in Linda Vista (San Diego). What is frustrating is that each time, resetting the cable modem ENDED the outage. How much longer would the outage have been if I didn't reset the cable modem? If resetting the modem is required, the shouldn't RR do that remotely? I wasted all that time twiddling my thumbs waiting for service to return...really -- applications that run even when I'm not home got stuck & had to wait till I reset the modem. That just should not be the solution!!! It does not sound like an OUTAGE! it sounds like YOU have an individual issue.
The solution is that you call and get it fixed.
